When you're rich, money looses it's meaning. This king is rich enough to use dollars to light his cigars. Though no dollar-countries have kings. So I guess he must have sent out for dollars in order to light up his cigars. An odd thing to do. Not sure why but I decided to do this one in dark red and white instead of black and white.
Uncle Sam heads out of New York harbor (with boats cruising under his legs) with a big gun in his hands. This could be interpreted different ways by different viewers. Either Uncle Sam is defending his country, or he is off to spread his imperialism on unsuspecting countries. Hmm! Interesting.
I can't but help feeling that this Uncle Sam is a bit "Evil" or at least he is planning something devious. Originally in a super old (thus public domain) political cartoon, but I thought it deserved new life.
So Uncle Sam is sounding off on a bugle. Is he on the moon? I don't think so. Not quite sure what he is doing. But he seems to be trying to get attention. Or maybe just some improvised jazz?
A panda pointing Uncle-Sam style at the viewer, his hand resting on a ballot box, encouraging you to voice. Drawn for Fedora - http://fedoraproject.org
So many questions about this drawing that I synthesized from an old public domain editorial cartoon. What is Uncle Sam reading? A newspaper? The constitution? His last will and testament? Why is he shaking? What is he smoking? A joint? A cigarette? What's going on?!
Sometime back in 1915, an artist was commissioned (or was insane enough to do it on her/his own!) to draw Uncle Sam on a stick. So here he is. It's like a patriotic shishkebab!
