On the 17th of December 2011, an entire family (Täuffelen, State of Bern in Switzerland) was hit on a zebra crossing. The father, 34 years old, died. Although in Switzerland pedestrians have priority (written law) over any other vehicles (bikes included) on zebra crossings, more and more humans of any age die because of being hit while crossing over zebras.
